DJ Sacha is the new kid on the block of the UK's local Cuban salsa DJs. His musical education started in France at an early age with piano, clarinet, saxophone and singing, all dropped when joining university in Paris and when the patience of suburban rehearsals was quickly overtaken by the urge to roam the wide wild world of the French capital's live concerts and second hand CD shops. His passion to discover all forms of musical cultures and their connection to people's lives was further deepened when travelling around the world in 2002 and 2003. A sudden encounter with a Manolito tune in 2004 marked the promised land: the sheer energy, musical completeness and fascinating traditions of Cuban salsa and Timba took the pole position of his eclectic musical charts.

After moving to the UK in 2007, and through an ongoing collaboration with Leandro Charanga, DJ Sacha has revived, developed and promoted the Cuban salsa scene in the region of Cambridge, and is helping with a number of Cuban salsa projects in East Anglia.
